Coffee and Company
Up in Portsoy, my mum & dad (who celebrate their Golden Wedding this week - congratulations!) help out at a lovely community event called Coffee and Company, where people can get together for a chat over a cuppa and a cake. So I was delighted to be asked to speak to a similar group which meets once a month in Cusop Village Hall. This group got on my good side straight away by asking who wanted to sit nearest to "the young man!"
I told the story of how we set up Eighteen Rabbit, with its roots in our trip to Mexico nearly 14 years ago. There were some great questions afterwards and I hope all those present may have come away with a bit of a clearer idea of what we're doing in the shop.
The highlight though were the refreshments - I have never seen anything quite like it, with sausage rolls, sandwiches, scotch eggs, cakes and scones appearing from every corner. I wished I hadn't had my lunch beforehand!
Thanks again to everyone from the group for inviting me along - we are always happy to speak at community, church or school groups if we are able.
